Winter Weather Driving!

Break 1-9 the blogger is back!

Hello Everyone! It has been quite some time since I have posted to this blog. I apologize to those of you who read my posts and I have been absent. What better time to return than now, the perfect time to remind you to be extra careful when driving on snowy and icy roads.

I know every time you leave out for a run anything can happen. Driver's should always be extra careful, but the winter season calls for even more extra attention! No matter how well of a driver you are, accidents happen everyday!

So, be careful out there ladies & gentlemen! If it wasn't for you, America would stop! You are greatly appreciated!!

The Ever So Lovely DOT!

Hello All Trucker's and their lovely wives...

Today I think I will talk about the ever so popular DOT..(HAHA, Yeah Right!) I understand everyone needs a job, but it seems the DOT do their best to keep hard working truckers from doing theirs. I know it is important to keep your semi running properly so you are safe out there, but it seems as if these officers go out of their way to bully. Most of them have major attitudes and think they own the road and those who travel on it.

If the officers would show truckers the respect they deserve, then they in turn may get the drivers respect. I have witnessed first hand the attitude these officers can have and how they find the tiniest little thing to write a ticket for and cost hard working drivers who just want to do their jobs and go home hundreds of dollars.

I am sure there are some good DOT officers out there who respect the drivers, but I have yet to come across one.

To all you DOT officers out there..give the drivers a break! They are spending weeks on the road away from their families and delivering products for you to have in your daily lives. How would you feel if they all shut down and didn't delivery anything!

Lonely Weekends :(

Good Thursday Morning! I've been up early getting my hubby's stuff ready for him to make another trip. This time he is headed to Richmond, Va. for a Friday morning delivery. I really don't like it when he has to make Friday deliveries on such a long run, it often causes him not to be home for quite a bit of the weekend :(

Ya see, I work the booths at our local flea market every weekend. (we have 14 booths!) and it gets kinda stressful to run it when he isn't there. We enjoy doing it together, but with his job, there are times he comes in late or isn't able to make it at all.

I hope all the trucker's and their wives out there have a safe and great weekend! To all the wives out there who's men are not going to be home with them this weekend due to being OTR, I know how ya feel. Here's a shot out to all of you for holding your head up and moving forward!

Hometime!!

Good Evening fellow truck Driver's Wives!

My hubby is actually in on a Monday evening, this is a very rare occasion! He has to leave out in the morning for Kentucky, but anytime he is home is wonderful! I am sitting here sipping on coffee, listening to the hum of the fan while he takes a well deserved nap! Even though he is sleeping, it is great that he is here!
His job causes him to be gone most of the week, and all you wives know how that feels if you are married to an OTR Driver. When he is working, I count the days until he will be home again! I know when he is driving he wishes he was home, but he is out there providing for the family and for that I am grateful!
To all the wives out there...enjoy every moment your man is home because it won't be long before you are packing his bag and filling his thermos for another long run!

The Beginning...

Hello everyone! I have decided to start this blog to have a place to vent when it comes to the issues of being a trucker's wife. Don't get me wrong, I now this is my husband's career, but some of the things that come up and I have to deal with are sometimes really hard! I also know there can be good money in this type of business, but at times it sure doesn't seem worth the money. In this blog I will be sharing my personal experiences of being a trucker's wife. I am quite sure there will be posts that are funny, some that are a little crazy and possibly some of me venting! It's not all bad, but there sure are some things that come up hat causes a lot of stress! Feel free to comment on my posts and tell me some of your stories as well. I know there are a lot of truck driver's wives out there that know exactly what I mean!
